ExtraContent is an open source method for getting additional content into places that most content management systems CMS can't reach.
It was developed by Adam Merrifield, Top Dog at Sey Doggy Design while looking to extend the abilities of RapidWeaver beyond the two content areas typically allowed... It is however, up to each theme developer to decide how to implement this feature into their own themes.
In this case, this text area which you are now reading is one of two ExtraContent areas that we have added to this particular theme. The other EC area, (in case you missed it) Is within the header. This will allow you to customize the header content, well beyond just a logo a title and slogan.
Using ExtraContent without Stacks:
There is more than one way of adding extra content to your pages... You do not need the Stacks Plugin, you can use a simple universal text Snippet to call the function into any page. A copy of the Snippet and directions on how to use it provided with this theme.
